Cleaning Day

The lab seems to have just been getting messier and messier. So today when I came in this was what I found. David was clean his office so I thought, what the heck I'm going to clean the lab today.

My first job was collecting all the bowls of vinegar that had been left on the table, along with random drinks, and washing them or throwing them away.

You can see how much cleaner everything looked afterwards.

And finally this is how the lab looked after I got finished cleaning it. Gracie, the Dimetrodon, is still taking up the left table, but that's ok.

Then while I was in a cleaning mood David asked me if I could do a little redecorating of a pretty plan wall we have in the hallway between the labs.

So I hung the three pictures he want me to put up, and yes those are important historical American figures riding dinosaurs.

After lunch I had about an 45 minutes left to do some more detailed cleaning of the small Jane jacket, so this is what it looked like after I was done.

Back to Work on the Jacket

I started my day by getting the small Jane jacket back out.

This is once I had done a little more work on it.

Then I found a burrow, which you can see had been filled in by a bluer dirt.

Sometimes you have to get inventive when you're vinacing things back together, so I used a q-tip to hold up one side of the fossil while the vinac dried.

In the middle of the day I took a brake from my jacket and went up to the 4th floor with David and Burt to try to find a larger jacket. It turned out it had been surrounded by a lot of stuff...

But we eventually found it.

And in the jacket we could see that there are at least two Boomerang Heads.

You also never know what you'll see on the 4th floor...

After lunch I went back down to the lab and did some detail cleaning work on the small Jane jacket under the large magnifying light.

This is what the jacket looked like at the end of the day.

And you can see how much dirt I've taken out in this picture.
